The frequency valve optimizes the air/fuel ratio by controlling injector delivery, as governed by the oxygen sensor/Lambda control unit. Pulsing like an electronic fuel injector, the valve adjusts the lower-chamber pressure of the fuel distributor as needed by bleeding off a small amount of fuel to control injector delivery rate.
